Scripture Reading: Jeremiah 10:1-16
Review: OT David was the human author of Psalm 29, the psalm we studied this past Sunday morning on the Universal Kingdom of God. David is not the only OT writer/prophet to acknowledge how everyone and everything exists ultimately under the rule of God. In Ephesians 1:11, Paul wrote that God "works all things after the counsel of his own will". In Proverbs 21:1, Solomon declared: "The king's heart is a stream of water in the hand of the Lord; he turns it wherever he will". See also, Jeremiah 10:1-16.
Reflection Questions: What contrasts do you see between Jeremiah's description of the idols of the nations and his description of God as the "everlasting King"( Jeremiah 10:10)? Using a sentence or two, describe what difference Jeremiah's contrast (in other words, his understanding of God as the "everlasting King") makes in your life? How specifically might you respond today to God as the "everlasting King"?
