The Nippon Initiative and Our Ministry in Japan

Several people have asked about how they might be able to support the ministry of The Nippon Initiative, which is our ministry to Japanese people. The aftermath of the recent earthquake and tsunami has put the needs of Japanese people, including their spiritual needs, on all of our hearts and minds. So here is some additional information for you to prayerfully consider as you follow the Lord's leading.

The Nippon Initiative Relief Effort - The Nippon Initiative is currently receiving donations to help with the quake and tsunami relief effort. 100% of donations to this fund will be used for the relief effort.

Summer Ministry 2011 - The Nippon Initiative has formed a team of college students and leaders to travel to Japan this summer, July 19 - Aug 1. The purposes of this trip are: (1) to familiarize people with the spiritual climate of Japan; (2) to familiarize people with existing ministry to Japanese people; and (3) to involve people in those ministries. Gifts received for the team's ministry this summer will be greatly appreciated.

There are currently several ways to give:

1. Directly to the Nippon Initiative - Checks should be made to the Nippon Initiative and marked either for relief or the summer ministry or both. The Nippon Initiative is also set up to receive donations through Paypal.

2. Through Hamilton Hills Baptist Church - Checks should be made to HHBC and marked for the Nippon Initiative Relief Project or the Nippon Initiative Summer Ministry or both. HHBC maintains a Nippon Initiative Fund. HHBC is also set up to receive donations through Ebay-Mission Fish (look for the "donate now" tab.

3. Airline miles - If you have accumulated airline miles and would like to donate some to the Nippon Initiative, this also would be greatly appreciated. Donated miles will help us to defer the travel costs of airfare for team members. Please contact me via directly if you would like to donate miles. 4. Amazon - Many people use Amazon.com to make various purchases. If you begin your sessions on Amazon (searches, purchases, etc.) here on Pastor Randy's Blog, a portion of whatever you purchase will go to the Nippon Initiative. This works as long as you do not navigate away to another site before completing your purchase. In other words, when you access Amazon from the search box on Pastor Randy's Blog, you will be re-directed to Amazon. com, where you will be able to make purchases or do anything you normally do on Amazon. That is considered a "session" on their site. As long as you begin that "session" here and do not navigate away to some other site, we will receive credit for it. Please tell other people about this option for making purchases on Amazon. It is a relatively "painless" way to support our ministry to Japanese people.

5. Prayer is the most vital way to contribute to the goals of the Nippon Initiative. Please pray for God to bless all of our efforts to reach Japanese people for Christ.
