What about the Zodiac?

God clearly forbids us to worship the stars or look to them for guidance with our decisions or questions about the future (Deuteronomy 4:19-20). I said in the sermon on Sunday that if a Christian is in the habit of consulting their horoscope, they need to stop. It is an abomination to God. To be clear, I am not suggesting that if someone happens to be looking over a newspaper or magazine and their eyes glance over to the horoscopes that they are condemned forever if they scan down through them and chuckle over the one that corresponds to their birthday. I wouldn't advocate using "amusement" and "curiosity" to justify a daily practice of checking the horoscopes. But at any rate, when I speak of such as an abomination to God I am referring to the practice of looking to them for guidance or somehow allowing them to influence your activities or view of yourself (or others).

With the above in mind, what about the Zodiac? Specifically, what about the visualizations that are associated with the Zodiac? Fascinatingly enough, many of them obviously convey biblical images and themes. Could God be trying to tell us something? I'll write more on this either tomorrow or later in the week.

Just this footnote: I am traveling this week to a missions conference at the Bible college Dale and I attended. Tomorrow I will be speaking for the chapel service in the seminary. I appreciate your prayers for me (and Pastor Stan is traveling with me). Unfortunately, my internet access may be limited. Check back anyway...if I am able I will post more on the zodiac.

So you don't believe in Astrology but you believe a man was brought back to life after being dead for THREE days???
